The New Pennsylvania License Plate Is Here!

Big news from the Keystone State — PA’s brand-new Liberty Bell license plate design has officially arrived! As the birthplace of American democracy and the host of America’s 250th birthday in 2026, Pennsylvania is rolling out a fresh look that celebrates our proud heritage.

Plates are available for standard passenger and truck vehicles. Personalized plates are also available — if you already have a personalized plate, you can receive a new plate in our new style free of charge. If you currently have a specialty plate (military, special fund, or organization plate), switching to the new plate will replace it with a standard plate.

If you’re replacing a standard or existing personalized plate:

1. Fill out the application for a new style registration plate, form MV-44LB
2. Follow the instructions on the form:
   1. Check the box for the new Liberty Bell plate.
   2. Complete your information as listed on your current registration card.
3. If you are replacing a personalized plate:
   1. Enter your configuration exactly (including dashes or spaces).
   2. Attach a photo of your current plate.
4. Contact us for submitting the form or on mailing instructions.
   
   If you’re replacing a standard plate, there is a $13 replacement fee. If you’re replacing a personalized plate, there is no cost.
